Earning Credits Through CDABC
This site is a fantastic place to meet your continuing education requirements. Active and Associate members receive 12 tokens with membership, which can be redeemed for continuing education credits by taking courses (at no extra cost) in a variety of formats in the CDABC CE library.
You may choose from the following categories:
- Live courses by telephone (teleseminars)
- PDF courses (self study)
- Audio courses (self study)
- Annual in-person event (AGM & CE Day)
Non-members can join/renew their membership online and begin taking courses in a matter of minutes. Members simply login and start redeeming right away.
Further tokens can be purchased online once you have used up your initial 12.
What is a Teleseminar?
Teleseminars are live CE events that happen over the telephone on a specific date and time. You do not have to be at a computer at the time of the call. Lectures are one hour/one credit, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. PT on a specified date (Monday to Thursday).
The College of Oral Health Professionals considers CDABC teleseminars as live study courses, not self-study courses.
After you register online for a teleseminar, you automatically receive an email that includes the phone number and special code you use to call into the teleseminar. It will also include a PDF handout for you to read. On the day, you call in at the designated time and listen in to a live lecture. You must then complete a 5-question quiz online to confirm your attendance. If you achieve a score of 80%, you receive an email certificate that you can then submit to the College for credits.
How do CDABC Self-Study Courses Work?
CDABC self-study courses can be taken in your own time and from your own home. There are two versions: audio self-study, which are recorded versions of our teleseminars, or self-study PDF documents, which you simply read in your own time.
When you register online for a self-study course, you will automatically receive an email containing a link to the audio recording and/or PDF document. You can then listen in or read the material at your own pace, before following a link to a short quiz to complete online in order to receive your certificate to submit to the College.
