Dental Assistants Recognition Week

Dental Assistants Recognition Week (DARW) is an annual opportunity to celebrate dental assistants and the essential work that they do in every dental practice. DARW will take place on March 1-7, 2020

This year's theme is "A 20/20 Dental Assistant - Looking Toward the Future".

For CDAs

Please be sure to make the most of this week by thanking your CDA colleagues for their hard work, distributing the posters below at your practice, and posting the images to your social media accounts.

For Dentists and Employers

How do you plan to recognize the contribution of your certified staff to the success of your practice? Might we suggest purchasing their membership with the Certified Dental Assistants of BC?

CDABC is the public voice for assistants in BC, presenting issues important to CDAs to our regulator, and ensuring that our responsibilities and rights are recognized.

Membership in our professional association will give your CDA employees access to our resources, starting with 12 CE tokens, which they can redeem for CDA-specific continuing education courses. These include at least eight live broadcast hours that are presented monthly, and an online library of self-study courses. Every November, the CDABC holds our Annual General Meeting and Continuing Education Day, featuring two CE presentations at a total of four hours of learning. Our members are eligible (at no additional cost) to join Perkopolis, our product, travel and service discount partner.

Members also receive discounted access to professional liability insurance, an important safeguard in these increasingly litigious times. The cost of this service is $26.00 for the year.

Why is membership a benefit for the dental office?

For offices in more remote parts of our province, it can be very difficult for staff to obtain their required CE credits and maintain their certified status.  Our courses are presented via online webinar in the evenings, accessible from the comfort of one's own home. For staff  who need more educational hours, we have an online library of courses eligible for self-study credits.

Membership in a professional association helps CDAs to recognize and maintain their own professionalism, and respect their responsibilities to the public.

As a thank you from CDABC, we offer participating dental offices free job postings on our website, should you ever need to add to your staff.

A year’s membership costs $125.00, plus applicable taxes per member – about $13.00 per credit hour availability.

Find out more about benefits here, and contact us to sign up a new member.
