The province of Saskatchewan is facing significant shortages in the availability of Registered Dental Assistants. Simply, if you are registered, licensed and in good standing in another Canadian jurisdiction, you will be eligible for registration in Saskatchewan.
The competencies that are authorized in Saskatchewan are very similar to BC, so you would not find a great deal of difference in practice. However, their competencies are based on actual formal training, so RDAs with ‘grandfathered’ skills will not be able to practice those competencies.
Saskatchewan dental assistants are self-regulated and do not have supervision requirements. Please visit the website to learn more about the Saskatchewan organization http://www.sdaa.sk.ca. View the job board to find out about current openings: http://www.sdaa.sk.ca/site/jobboard
