In recognition of the upcoming Dental Assisting Recognition Week (March 7 to 13, 2021), Canada's Chief Dental Officer, Dr. James Taylor, wrote a letter to CDAA, celebrating Dental Assistants' contributions "as front-line oral health professionals and as essential health care providers".

An excerpt from Dr. Taylor's letter:

"[Y]our professionalism has undoubtedly had a direct influence on Canada’s current status of having zero documented cases of COVID-19 transmission, either provider-to-patient or patient-to-provider, in an oral health care setting."
