The Chief Public Health Officer of Canada, Dr. Theresa Tam, has put out an urgent request for volunteers to assist with the COVID-19 pandemic.

There is a need for people to help build capacity at the provincial level for surveillance and monitoring of COVID-19 cases. More specifically, they need assistance in detailed case reporting/analysis and contact tracing to help to quickly identify cases and break chains of transmission by isolating and monitoring close contacts.
