Join us for our May 26th teleseminar on teenage oral health issues, presented by Susan Woodley of Philips Oral Healthcare.
The current and sometimes shocking health behaviours and trends in the younger generation can influence their oral and systemic health. The dental professional has an opportunity during the dental visit to identify risk behaviours and intervene with the teenager to make positive health choices.
Examining high risk behaviors and gender differences prepare the dental professional to initiate conversations that will provide guidance with the health decisions that face the youth of today.
Course Objectives:
Upon completion of this course the participants will be able to:
- Understand dietary issues
- Recognize various risk behaviours
- Enhance intervention skills
- Customize and implement treatment strategies
About the Speaker
Susan Woodley graduated over 30 years ago from Fanshawe College in the Dental Hygiene Program. She began practicing dental hygiene in general practice, though the better part of her career led her to practising in orthodontics.
She was a faculty member at the local college, both didactic and clinical. Susan has developed and presented workshops in orthodontics as well as presenting an oral pathology course with a leading Canadian educational and training company.
Susan is Manager of Professional Education for Ontario and Canada West with Philips Oral Healthcare. She resides in London, Ontario with her husband. She is the proud mother of two married children, who live in Kelowna and Australia.
