A message from the CDABC Board

Thank you to all of those who attended our CE Day and AGM on November 21st!  It was great to see you all, and to hear your response to the work we, as a board, have been doing.

For those who were unable to be there, there are a number of highlights to cover. We have simplified the wording of our constitution and bylaws, without changing the intentions. The auditors are satisfied that all is correct in the bookkeeping, and have been reappointed for the next audit.

One of our new board members, Debra Parminter, had taken on the job of investigating options for benefit plans for our members. This is not something that will be completed overnight, but it is started!

CDABC is also looking at starting a CDA study club, with the intention of operating at UBC, helping the dental students fully understand the value of working with trained, licensed staff. Licensed CDAs would spend time teaching students about how a good dentist/CDA pairing works. This would provide the students with experienced staff to show them the ropes, would give the participating CDAs excellent CE credits, and would show the dental students the value of employing licenced staff. Those interested, watch this space. We will be announcing a phone meeting in the near future.

Meera Mehali, a board member for over a year, has volunteered to assume the chair of the CE committee. Anyone who is interested in keeping our courses current is welcome to join this committee and support the CDA community. Please contact info@cdabc.org.

Thank you for your continued support and, as always, please engage with us on Twitter and Facebook. We love to hear from you!
